After “celebrating” my 50th birthday I realized I had a couple of choices; to be 50, flabby and feeling frumpy OR to be 50, fit and feeling fabulous.

I love getting there at 7:55 and out by 8:40 with a great sweat. It is quick and very efficient. The first week or so, I was so tired all day long (which tells me I was working new muscles), but now I feel great and ready to conquer the day! The exercises are challenging and different every day, the pace is awesome and even though everyone is not at the same level, I am never bored.

I joined Curtis Ludlow’s Bootcamp FX in September and I immediately LOVED the workouts! It is challenging to keep up, but Curtis is able to recognize your physical ability and how far to push you in order to achieve your goals. The fellow “boot-campers” are also very supportive and many of them have worked out with Curtis for many, many years.
After 60 days of Bootcamp FX and following Curtis’ nutritional guidelines, I saw tremendous results! I dropped pounds and inches off my body and was able to fit into my clothes comfortably and was well on my way to “reclaiming” my closet. More importantly, my body was changing shape; I was losing inches off my waist, hips and back and building muscle in my arms and legs.
I decided to stay with Curtis and now, four months later, I met my weight loss goal and I can fit into clothes I haven’t worn in over four years! I learned from Curtis that your “scale” weight is not as important as the inches you lose and the muscle you gain. I receive many compliments, feel better about myself and have more energy.
Left to my own, I know I would not push myself as hard. I appreciate it when Curtis tells me to “keep moving”. I joined Boot Camp FX to get in condition for this year’s LA to Barstow to Vegas off road motorcycle ride.At age 49, I completed the two day, 440 mile ride through difficult desert terrain with only slightly sore hands at the completion. I could have easily done a third day.
When I started training with Curtis, my goals were to lose some weight and become stronger (which would help me with my yoga and sailing). The results have been more than I had hoped for. The workouts have been extremely challenging, and it’s very clear that Curtis has tailored them to my abilities and goals. He is continually modifying the workout to keep it interesting and to challenge me to go to the next level.I feel better, I have more energy, and as I have become stronger. I had several personal tragedies and illness in my life this year. Once very fit, I didn’t have the energy to maintain workouts on my own. Boot Camp FX has helped me more than I ever expected. Since joining about 5 months ago, my fiance lost 11 pounds and I have lost 21 pounds and gained a new outlook on life. Both him and I have been “chubby” all our lives, It feels SO good to know that we are able to accomplish this weight loss without the help of diet pills, excessive dieting or cosmetic procedures. We first joined in preparation for out wedding which was 6 months away. Curits, It is my pleasure to comment on the training I receive from you. First of all, one of your workouts gives me the same results as 4 workouts by myself. That’s why I keep going back, I feel like I’m maximizing my full potential. By working out with you, and eating right, I feel I can achieve any results that I want. I’m hooked, I have to keep going back so I can get better results in a more efficient manner. Your email letter is great. I very much enjoy the time it seems that you put into it. I can tell by the VARIETY and DEPTH of topics you cover that you do a great deal of thought and research. I personally like to take little tid bits of each newsletter and try to apply it in my life. I stopped and then started doing that and I’ve lost 3 lbs in 1 month with giving up very little. Your fitness regimen is second to none. You push me to the very best of my ability and I always benefit, with regards to weight loss, muscle gain, and overall body fat loss…with your workouts. I will continue to use you in the future. First of all, I have had trainers in the past, however, I find that the result is quite different. My experience with previous trainers was a definite change in my body tone, balance and motivation, but that’s where it stopped. I find that the difference with Boot Camp FX is that I have gained stamina.
Prior to Boot Camp FX my personal routine was Pilates a few times a week and jog 2 miles on Saturday. On my 2 miles I would start out jogging, but before I got to the first mile I had to take walking breaks. Last weekend I jogged 4 miles non stop. I did a lot of sweating, but my breathing was never labored and my legs didn’t get sore at all. Boot Camp FX has certainly given me tone, balance and motivation just as the other trainers did, but without the endurance factor you don’t realize your TRUE POTENTIAL. This is good stuff.
I took your class starting August 3rd thru October 31st of 2009. I must admit that this was the kick start of my training for the Marathon. In your class, you take people beyond their expectations of what their bodies can do. The element of surprise of never knowing what you will be doing and what feat you will accomplish that day is what keeps people motivated.
It’s hard to get up at 5 a.m. to arrive at the park in the dark to work out, but if you miss a day, you just don’t feel right. You wonder what you have missed.
At age 51, I must say that I never would have imagined running a full Marathon, completing it, without injury, in 5 hours 41 minutes. No kidding….my time is still posted (bib #15262).

In the past I have worked with four different trainers. I am a cancer survivor for 12 Years now. I am a fighter and I give my all in everything in life. I appreciate so much more in life now and am grateful for everyday!
I have to thank you for that changes that have taken place in my body. I have taken off more than 8 inches off my arms, hips, legs, and waist.
I am so thankful Curtis did what four other trainers never did. This happened due to his dedication and love of his work. It shows in how he trains and get results. I am 72 years of age now and proud of how I look and feel.
I met Curtis at the gym, he was a trainer there. I would still go to the gym and do a trekking and dance class. I missed Boot Camp so much that is why this year I just canceled my gym membership. I love working out outdoors. Who wants to be enclosed? You are outdoors and hear the birds and see all the nature around you.
In the 12 years I have known Curtis he is truly what he preaches. He is so into what he does and loves it. He greets us every morning with a smile. His workouts are difficult and he knows just how much he can push each of us to get the maximum results we want. The workouts are always different and not boring at all. He continually changes the workouts and the different equipment he uses. We all are pretty much addicted to the Boot Camp. I have met so many ladies and have become good friends. We encourage one another and help each other in any way we can.
Last year February 1st, I started a treatment for my liver which went on for six months. Every Friday I had an injection in my stomach which was like chemo. I would feel sick and by Monday sometimes I did not want to work out, but still went. There were times when I would get out of breath just trying to run around the playground area and Curtis would still encourage me – keep going. This I do not forget. Especially since I had three personal trainers previously who did not compare to Curtis. With his encouragement I even did the stairs at Cal State Fullerton which is not easy when you are well. I did it at my own pace and was last to finish, but there was Curtis waiting for me with a high five.
I finished my treatment last July and here I am strong as ever again with my liver fully healed. I encourage everyone to come and try Boot Camp FX just for your health and the looks will be a plus.
There are men who workout and walk around showing it all off. What I love about Curtis is that he has the great body with all the muscles and does not show it off or brag about it. He is so down to earth and really cares about the people he is training.

You can come with no exercise habits under your belt and work your way up at your own pace. Curtis will adjust each exercise for you so that you can manage at your level and he’ll push you when you’re ready and you’ll catch up to everyone else quickly.
I’ve burned some fat, lost inches on my waist and legs and built up muscle in my legs, arms, back and shoulders. It’s been great seeing and feeling these changes. I can do more and I have more energy and my clothes fit much better.
If nothing else, it’s just 30 minutes in the morning and then you move on with your day. Workout done! And it didn’t even make a dent in your day. And you get a little bit of fresh air before you go to your job and jump into your weekly routine. I highly recommend trying it out for at least 2-3 months so that you can see and feel the differences in your body and energy level. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised and will hopefully become a regular.
Oh, and you don’t have to buy any equipment. Curtis brings everything.

“All my life I have been skinny and fit without any kind of regular exercise. I always ate well and was one of those people that you learn to hate because I ate very well without gaining any weight.
Well, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. After my two kids, things changed. With my first child I was able to lose all but 5 pounds, again without any particular exercise. When I had my 2nd child I gained another 5 pounds. Then as I started getting older, (mid thirties), I noticed I was getting flabbier and I truly started to understand the meaning of gravity!
I had previously worked out with other trainers with NO real results.
Partially because I NEVER GO TO THE GYM. The only time you will see me set foot in a gym is when I have a private session with a trainer.
So when my last trainer left, I decided to give Curtis a try. After only 10 sessions with him, I started noticing a HUGE difference in my body.
Mind you, I only train 2-times a week when I am training with Curtis. He was able to accomplish what other trainers could not do at 3 times a week for months. When your posture and energy level is better and your flat buttocks start to fill up your jeans- WOW, THAT IS THE BEST MOTIVATION. At this rate I don’t think I need to have that consultation with the plastic surgeon.
